Stay a little longer in Masham

Masham is in the heart of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales. The North Yorkshire market town is set around one of England's largest market places, surrounded by graceful Georgian houses, galleries, cafes and pubs. Masham is the home of two independent breweries, Black Sheep and Theakstons'. St. Mary's Church is not only host to one of the Festival's exhibitions but worth visiting in its own right, particularly to see the Saxon cross.

The area abounds in pleasant walks, from gentle riverside strolls to more demanding excursions into the surrounding moorland. There is plenty of good quality accommodation, from cosy bed and breakfasts to self-catering cottages and Swinton Park Hotel, a luxury hotel set in a former country house.
